Satellite construction compound
A satellite construction compound is smaller in size than the main construction compound, and provides office accommodation for a limited number of staff associated with the construction works as, well as welfare facilities. NB High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, defines a satellite compound as: ‘A compound that is smaller in size than the main compounds. Satellite compounds provide office accommodation for limited numbers of staff involved in the construction of the Proposed Scheme. Welfare facilities for staff are also provided.’
